چکیده

Rice is the staple food in Republic of Guinea. However, its production seriously hampered by iron toxicity. The fight against this stress necessarily involves search for tolerant or resistant varieties. study aims to determine quantitative trait locus (QTL) associated with tolerance toxicity and identify genotypes Thus, 90 local rice accessions collected two regions Guinea high were evaluated using 33,537 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers. Seventy SNP markers expressed a rate 100%. Diversity analysis entire collection these revealed total 140 alleles, moderate Nei genetic diversity 0.426, fairly Shannon index 0.610 an organization into four groups. also identified 12 potentially iron-tolerant five QTLs iron-toxicity located on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 11, 12. could be exploited lowland breeding program.   Key words: Oryza, abiotic stress, molecular characterization, variability,

Assessment of genetic diversity and identification of SSR markers associated with grain iron content in Iranian prevalent wheat genotypes

Iron is one of the most important nutrients in the human diet. According to the high consumption of staple foods such as wheat, the deficiency of iron in these crops would lead to nutritional disorders and related complications. To identify microsatellite markers associated with wheat grain iron content,38Iranian prevalent wheat genotypes were assessed using 30 pairs of genomic and EST microsat...

Genetic diversity of Iranian melon cultigens revealed by AFLP markers

Iran is a part of the secondary centre of origin of melons, and therefore, there is a wealth of genetic variation of these species in this country. The Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) marker was applied to investigate the genetic variations among five major Iranian melon cultigens (Cucumis melo) and ‘Ananasi’ as a general well-known cultivar. Ten primer pairs were used on 90 indiv...

Assessment of genetic diversity and relationship of coastal salt tolerant rice accessions of Kerala (South India) using microsatellite markers

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the most significant cereal crops, about 3 billion people, nearly half the world's population; depend on rice for survival and it offers up to 80% of daily energy intake in most of the Asian countries. Knowledge of the distribution, extent and pattern of genetic variation is useful for estimation of any possible loss of genetic diversity and its role in breeding...

Assessment of Genetic Diversity between Different Accessions of Calotropis Procera with ISSR Molecular Markers

The present study was performed to classify and study genetic diversity between Calotropis procera accessions from different regions of Kerman province (Iran) using ISSR markers. In total, DNA from 14 plant samples with nine ISSR primers was amplified by PCR and their banding pattern was obtained. The primers showed acceptable polymorphism (35.93) and minimum and maximum polymorphic information...
